Since the Clubs and Societies catalog has been published online there are a few questions that are being raised that we would like to address. This is mostly meant for new students who are not aware of how the Clubs and Societies operate. How it used to operate is that Clubs and Societies have a Fair; Clubs and Societies Fair (CS Fair) every year close to the start of the academic year. This is where registration and signups take place. You physically browse and signup to the clubs that you want to sign up for. This year the change is that Clubs and Societies have been listed online with their signup forms as well. Allowing for all students to sign up at anytime from anywhere before and after the CS Fair happens if they are really interested. There is a misconception that when you fill out the form you are a member. This is incorrect. Once you fill up the form you are doing a pre-signup. You officially become a member once the signup fees are paid which will be done at the CS Fair at the Clubs and Societies’ respective booths on the 5th and 6th of October. Sign up fees vary from club to club. Generally it’s sports clubs RM 20 and non sports clubs 10++ You can signup to as many clubs as societies that you want and there is no restriction on that. General Info Regarding the Cash Card and FAQs Though this post is mainly Pro Tips about how to most effectively use your cash card we would like to address the questions that we are sure that most of the student body will ask us as well. Why was the coupon system replaced? If you ask this question then you must really love monopoly cos most of the student body hated the coupon system. This is a very progressive and very important change and we feel you guys would see it as that as well. Why did this change take so long? Well as you can imagine this could not have been done immediately. There was a lot of infrastructure that needed to be put in place plus since the system is quite technical and involves money it needed to be done right and with a lot of planning and care. Why didn’t they just link the student card and allow us to pay with that? Security and data protection. Also if this was linked it would mean that an outside company would have access to student information and the university is very strict when it comes to such policies.
