Want to break down traditional gender roles that indirectly harm millions of people on a daily basis?Or perhaps, feminism has peaked your interest and you want to see what it’s all about. UNMC Feminist Society, also known as FEMSOC, is the society for you! We welcome all students alike to join us in creating social change that will benefit us and future generations! We have the power to change society – women voting and owning property rights are examples of the social change that occurred as a result of feminist movements! FEMSOC subscribes to intersectional feminism and aims to promote awareness of various issues pertaining to women’s rights, empowerment and equality. We hold talks, inviting speakers from well-known women’s rights groups in Malaysia such as Women’s Aid Organization (WAO) and All Women’s Action Society (AWAM), on issues like domestic violence, women in leadership and other issues prevalent in Malaysia and around the world. We are also involved with Gender Equality Initiative (GEI). FEMSOC provides UNMC students the platform to learn, spread awareness and take action! FEMSOC aims to provide a safe space for members who wish to discuss feminist issues productively; discourse is the foundation of social change. Awareness + Action = Social Change. UNMC Feminist Society is open to all students regardless of your gender identity. Even if you are new to feminism, do stop by our booth at CS Fair or check out our facebook page!

Association of Martial Arts Clubs
Association of Martial Arts Clubs (AMAC) offers you an opportunity to learn the wisdom of our forefathers other than simply fighting. Why do some martial artists punch from their waist while some straight from the chest? Why do I lose my balance easily in front of them? These are the wisdom as our ancestors survived attacks from beasts and wars. Martial arts do not only teach you how to defend yourself but also ways of solving everyday conundrums. You are not taught to throw punches only – martial arts are more than fighting. To people like Theodore Roosevelt, Paul Walker and Robert Downey Jr., martial arts are their ways of life. You will learn to protect yourself and most importantly, your loved ones when running away is no more an option.
