As a part of Indian tradition, guests are invited by family and friends for a grand celebration on Diwali. This year, the Indian Cultural Society (ICS) at UONM hosted a Diwali celebration on Thursday the 22nd of November 2018 at the Great Hall in the UONM Trent building. The event was hosted with majestic grandeur where their guests, being UONM students were invited to a night full of fun music, dance, games and food! It was a night of glitz and glamour as all the ladies were adorned in beautiful ethnic Indian wear such as sarees and salwar-kameez while the gentlemen looked dashing in their kurtas. The night kick-started with some energetic Bollywood dance performances, followed by some amazing singing performances. All the boys and girls also grooved to various Bollywood songs ranging from contemporary to classic romantic numbers, followed by a final performance where the audience was encouraged to join in and shake a leg together! Seventeen teams made up the competition with interim periods of rest deciding who was on the court. As each team banded together to win the prize pool, there remained a palpable feeling of tension in the air. As the day drew to a close, the remaining teams awaited the final rounds with fierce determination....

It is the perfect atmosphere for students to enter dreamland with the soothing pink hues and the comfortable mat. Drinks were served as well.
