The Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) is an international membership organisation based in the United Kingdom, founded in 1818. It is now a qualifying body for civil engineers, a centre for the exchange of specialist knowledge, and a provider of resources to encourage innovation and excellence in the profession.
ICE strikes to promote and progress civil engineering, and it believes that civil engineers are at the heart of society, delivering sustainable development through knowledge, skills and professional expertise. The ICE now represents nearly 82,000 members worldwide. Professionals who are awarded ICE memberships are among the best in the world.
